In the height of Despacito's popularity in 2017 19 songs mostly made in Spanish made it to into the Top 100. The number grew to 41 by 2020. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Soon, other artists collaborated with Reggaeton stars like Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma and Medellin 2019. Some reggaeton artists have criticized the shift to mainstream music in the year 2020. A new group, Rauw Alejandro, wanted to continue the development and growth of reggaeton. It often blended elements from electronic dance music and other genres.
