Awkwafina the American actor and singer, began by releasing witty raps which addressed sexuality and racial identification. Before expanding into Hollywood the singer and actress released a series of rap tracks. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was from the trumpet. Also, she received the classical and jazz education later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies. She even doing Mandarin in Beijing for a time. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. After gaining viral fame via the Internet, her single My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on her album debut Yellow Ranger. Other viral hits included the Queef track and the equally winking NYC Bitchecity tour. The track also appeared in the Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Following her success as a singer and author, she was able to accept the role of actor. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she got several breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP premiered in June.
