Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian born actress. Her debut on screen was with her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. She can fluently speak French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father is a theatre instructor at one of Romania's highest-rated theater schools. In 2000, the Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. The year 2008 saw her recognized as an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. Aside from her brilliant role in Sex Traffic Anamaria Marinca is most famous for the role she played in the Romanian artist film 4 months 3 Weeks 2, Days. The film was awarded several accolades including being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress by The London Film Critics. She was the lead in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 3 weeks, 4 months and 2 days" (4 3 Weeks, 4 Months and Two Days) which earned her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also won two other awards, The Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Additionally, she was a part in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca played Yasim in the BBC's five episode The Last Enemy. Marinca played roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as also in the Romanian drama Boogie. Later, she had a major role in the 2014 film Fury where she portrayed the role of a German woman who was named Irma the aunt of Emma.
